If you never got around to learning how to schuss down the slopes, this is your chance.  (And if you can ski, why not try snowboarding, or vice-versa?)  January is National Learn to Ski & Snowboard Month, and a number of big-name New Hampshire resorts are offering a free package of lesson, equipment rental, and beginner lift ticket through Sunday.  Spots are filling quickly, but you can check the website to see weekend availability.

If sports and cold weather are too much for you, you can always kick back with a specialty cocktail at M Bar & Lounge.  For the first 11 days of the new year, they are offering delectable-sounding Molten Cioccolato, Lemon Drop, White Christmas, and Deluxe cocktails.  These $11 drinks are a steal compared to their usual $16 drink menu.

No Pants Subway Ride

On the other hand, if you want to experience the cold weather even more but you can’t make it out of state, you can don your best boxers, briefs, or boyshorts for the fourth annual No Pants Subway Ride in Boston on Sunday.  You’ll need to register on the website and arrive at Alewife by 2pm to be assigned to a team.  There is an official 21+ afterparty at McGreevey’s and an under-21 pantsless bowling afterparty at Sacco’s Bowl Haven.
