The panels will be laid on the iconic building’s south-facing windows to produce up to 2 megawatts of energy (equal to a 10-acre ground solar farm). Layered between panes of glass, the PV cells will serve to reduce glare, generate electricity, and preserve the views. Little information has been provided by Pythagoras Solar regarding installation or maintenance costs, but, if successful, this project could certainly act as a model for many other high rises around the nation.
