Where: Colorado, Florida, Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio, and Virginia.
What’s going on: Mitt Romney and his friends tried hard to redefine the GOP presidential nominee as a heck-of-a-guy at their convention last week. They threw everything they had at trying to convince Americans that Mitt was the kind of person to whom you could relate, could have a couple of beers at a Red Sox or Patriots game.
And his likability numbers did tick up a little tiny bit, though the overall convention bump was mostly missing.
The Obama campaign seems unimpressed with all the touchy-feely hoopla. They are launching a new ad, as the Democratic convention begins, saying that Mitt Romney is an out-of-touch rich guy who not only doesn’t care about the concerns of the middle class, but will tax the middle class to pay for tax cuts for wealthy.
